For Ronnie Wald, 2008
will mark his 30th year in broadcasting as the internet broadcast

San Diego State baseball, Cal State Northridge football, baseball

In fact, Wald is the "Dean of CCAA Broadcasters" dating
back as the voice of the CSUN Matadors on KGIL-AM in 1984. Also,
Wald has called play by play for the Visalia Oaks and Bakersfield
Blaze in baseball's California League.
Now, in his fourth decade in broadcasting, Ronnie's credits
include three NCAA tournaments, Big West tournament, WAC playoffs,
seven NCAA regionals, seven COA championships, the College World

Forces Radio. Wald also aired the NAIA basketball finals in
Kansas City where he broadcast a record seven games in one day!
Additionally, Ronnie has added the last five CIF/Southern Section
Baseball Championships to his credits--from the Big A in Anaheim.
In 2005, Wald set an all time Stretch Internet high school basketball
listener record with his call of the CIF Div. I girl's final
from Arco Arena in Sacramento. In television, he served
as a producer of 'Dr. J's Sports Focus' program seen on ESPN
as well as directing an ABC/Word golf instructional featuring
senior PGA multi-millionaire Kermit Zarley.
Ronnie, a former student body president, is a graduate of Cal
State Northridge and L.A. Pierce College. Also, he can be found
in laradio.com's prestigious listing of all Los Angeles' radio
personalities for the past 50 years. In 2003, Ronnie and Waldcast.net
were honored by the California State Legislature for an "exemplary
record of community service" and "professional leadership"
in over two decades of broadcasting in the Golden State and
from the LA Community College District, Wald earned the "Chancellor's
Distinguished Honor Award." He is also a 20-year member
of the American Sportscasters Association.
Says former Oakland A's, NBC and World Series broadcaster Monte
Moore, "Ronnie is a credit to sports broadcasting. I am
always proud to make a positive statement about him and his
very impressive Waldcast.net." |
